Hi folks, just wanted to wish all of our States members a happy 4th of July! I'll be off for the next 3 days. We've got family coming in and a big celebration here. We can't leave home this time of year. Too much of a fire danger. Temps should reach about 105 by Thursday. With no humidity, we're prime targets for fires right now!

Anyway, I'll be cooking tomorrow, with family Wednesday and taking a day to myself Thursday.

We have over 25 weddings on Saturday. I had a huge DUH moment LOL! How many human beings live through a turn of the century? Okay, put that together with the fact that I live in a gaming town, spent 22 years in gaming.... and hubby, the boys still work in hotels/casinos. Did I realize that 07-07-07 landed on a Saturday this year? Oh no... didn't faze me until brides kept booking that date! Three sevens on a slot machine give you the jackpot... very lucky I guess! I didn't put it together! I live here, grew up here, but I don't gamble! Huge DUH moment there for me! All flowers are finished. I just didn't get the triple 7 thing. We're taking 3 days off before having to set up these weddings Friday and Saturday.

Stay safe. If you're in drought areas, please leave the fireworks to the professionals. Even harmless sparklers can cause horrid devastation when mixed with dry grass and such. It just takes a tiny spark to create devastation.

Have a great 4th everyone, just stay safe and be smart.

Happy 4th everyone!

Hey Maureen, the 7-7-7 has been talked about a lot all year long. I figured all casinos would be playing up that day really big!!

Funny you should mention that Mark! Even though we work in and around that industry, it just didn't catch on until last month. We all had the DUH moment! None of us are superstitious, nor do we gamble. I guess we're just numb to that stuff

I heard on the news that several Jersey casinos were focusing on it. Here in the Reno Tahoe area, the only casino advertising it at all is where hubby works. That's only because he figured it out from the weddings. They're having a big 777 celebration tomorrow. But, they didn't have the advertising in place until a week and a half ago. If you hit the 3 sevens on a certain slot machine, you get a $77.777 jackpot.

Won't be me! We'll be busy setting weddings up all day and night! We've got weddings booked until 11:45 pm tomorrow night.

Be back when I recover!

Hi

Yep, while watching the news on a Tampa TV station they were saying lots of 7-7-7 weddings in the area.
