Spray Undercoating

I had an idea to use rubberized spray undercoating like this on the side(s) of the i-beams under my house. The goal is to simply minimize the 'tingy' sounds that sometimes resonate under there. Rapping on the side of the beams with your knuckes sends those sounds down the whole length of the beams. The house is level, and the wedges are snug. I don't want to coat the whole thing, but thought I could just spray it down the center length of the beam for sound dampening. Any thoughts?

I guess it couldn't hurt, but if it's not you beating on the frame rail, I would be more concerned who IS down there. Greg

Hi Aaron,

I think I would be concerned with making sure that the prep is perfect and the sealant is also. If not, any crack would allow moisture to collect underneath.

I thought of that Yanita, I wonder if there's such a thing as sound dampening latex paint? Something that would breath.
