The place we bought has a small pond about 30'x60' the other day I saw a snake that is dark blue green and has 2 light brown strips running from head to tail. the only thing I have found is a Garner snake but they have 3 strips not 2. when it took off it went in pond and under the water. any one know what it could be?

My first thought is water moccasin if it dived into the pond and if it is you must be further south and if it is they taste good flame roasted
just don't let it bite you first.

There are different types of Garter Snakes. It was most likely one of those or a Ribbon snake.

Take care and best wishes,
Robert
