I just started connecting the shower faucet and shower head pipe.

I used Tape but one brass fitting REFUSED to seal no matter how tight I made it, Soooooooooo, I tokk them all apart and applied a ring uf putty around each one and reconnected them. NO MORE LEAKS!

I read somewhere that said to add putty over the tape for a 100% seal, and it worked.
Teflon Tape is clean and quick, but you can't beat what the old timers used to use as a backup.

Buy the way, the Gator and Shark Bite fittings sealed 100% on the first try. Even on the PB (Polyethylene Gray) pipe.
