Anyone else seen the movie 300. I'm not usually one for too much blood and guts, violence and death, but I really did like this one.

I'm thinking the only thing required to be in the cast( beside acting skills) was to be extremely BUFF! Yes ladies, there is allot of muscle in this movie!!!! That is probably what peeked my interest at the beginning.
Humanity is a parade of fools, and I'm at the front, twirling a baton!

that was a pretty intense love scene too, but at the same time, I wish I lived back then with my queen, and had an 8 pack

I've been waiting several years for this movie to be made. Reading the original graphic novel by Frank Miller a few years back, I couldn't help thinking what an epic movie it would make if done right. Frank Miller has been a superb writer and artist for years in the comics medium (he was responsible for completely revitalizing Batman a while back with his "The Dark Knight Returns" graphic novels), but Hollywood has always watered down his fantastic visuals and visceral writting style. That was until Robert Rodriguez optioned Frank's "Sin City" and decided to make it as true to Frank's vision as possible with all the grit and violence intact. It became a huge hit and opened doors for Frank in Hollywood in a big way. When director Zack Snyder took on "300", he also decided to make the movie as true to it's origins as possible, which is why the movie is so compelling and such a visual masterpiece. Scenes from the movie are taken frame-by-frame from the original graphic novels and much of the dialog has been left intact. Had this been left to the usual Hollywood idea men we would have seen a much less violent and watered-down version, probably with a "G" rating.
