I have this little unit close to the kitchen & bathroom. It's controlled by a wall humidistat. Seems to be working; it blows air out one side and sucks it in the other when it's on, anyway.

My question is, do these really actually do anything useful? It's supposed to retain the heat but bring in fresh air I assume, but it's so small I can't see that it would actually retain anything. Would it be better to replace it with an actual air conditioner (after winter)? Does anyone know anything about these?

I don't think I have ever seen one. I would just go with an A/C unit.
