Woke this morning to the smell of electrical "HOT" Well the wiring on the heat pump/AC was fried. Model # C3QA-042U-B

Anyone have an idea what I can figure on paying to replace this unit? I realize we are in the peak season, extreme heat warnings, and they will be able to pick their price from the sky high.

We have called both our local repair companies and waiting for a call , well he'll be here in about an hour.......

Thanks

Burned/scorched wiring could mean an overloaded circuit. The breaker should have tripped before too much damage was done. In addition to repairing the a/c unit, have that circuit checked out at the breaker box.

It could also be a result of a bad connection resulting in arching.

Pricing is impossible to say, there are many possible causes & fixes. Let the pro's get a look at it.
