Getting really close. Painted it four times now, primer, the first color which I hated,, then two coats to cover the bad choice. Crown is up,,, still having problems getting that exactly right. Counter top is in, mirror and lights in and trimmed out the window. Today I rehang the door after a trim,,, floor grout,,,final trim on the counter and door,, set the sink.

I love that sink!

I like that countertop and sink. Although I think my kids would make a mess of it with water splashing all over!

What kind of trim or edging are you putting on the front where the tile ends?

Just some 1x5 pine,,, nothing too fancy. I've finished everything less installing the tub surround and some touch up painting and install the faucet which I'll do today. I'll pick up the tub surround tomorrow and try to get it installed one night this week. I can't do final pictures until them. I can say this project has taken longer than I would of expected. All together I have 17 full days into it,,, but it's almost done!

Got the surround installed yesterday. I had a bit of a time fitting the back wall though. The good news is a 4" grinder with an 80 grit wheel worked perfectly. I like this solution a lot better than the fiberglass panels.

I'll caulk it today and install the rest of the hardware.

Finally done,,,, I think it came out really nice!











OK,,, this is the last project,, so this thread is coming to an end. This is the back wall that overlooks the patio. The plan all along was to try to put in two sets of 8' sliders to really open up the back of the house, so we never finished the drywall/crown/baseboard work. Well as we'll be selling within 6-8 months I'm skipping this project. The tape and first coat of mud is done, second coat of mud today,, final coat tomorrow. Hoping to paint on Sunday.

After almost three years,,, it's all done,,, less some crown molding so this thread has come to an end. Thanks for coming along,,, and if anyone is looking for a mobile home in Key Largo,,, this one is going on the market after the first of the year.

This was a forclosure we bougth at what I consider the bottom of the market here,, we paid $230k and it was a good deal. We're hoping to sell for somewhere around $350-365k maybe a bit more as the maket is quite good here now. I haven't kept an exact total but we've spent Around $35K in improvements. 5k to demo the addition on the back and build the deck,, $8k for the roof,, $9k for the boat lift, kitchen maybe $4k, $3k for both baths, $2.5K flooring, paint inside an out, drywall, crown, baseboards, 2 new closets, fans, light fixtures etc. etc etc. So we're looking at $100K give or take in profit,,,less labor.

As far as my labor goes,,,I've got a bunch of hours in this but I'm no pro and it takes me a while to do things so I can't really give you a number on my labor. I can say if you paid to have all of this done,,, I still l think there'd be a little profit at the end.

You need to understand that when we bought this it was never our intention to flip/sell it,, or at least not until we retired which is 10 years out. The plan was remodel it and enjoy it every weekend with family and friends. The thing is we found that we liked it so much here,,, we wanted to be here full time and suffer through the drive to work every day. It's a small price to pay to live in paradise!

Well the new house is FINALLY done and we've moved. Still can't believe it took so long. We've got the trailer all spiffy and staged. I got some really good pictures and created a website. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

You did just a SUPER job on this! It's a shame you won't be able to enjoy living in it FINISHED for awhile, but WOW! Nicely done!
