Hi all,,would replacing my pressed board cabinets with real oak mounted on the walls be too heavy for my 97 commodore?

If these are regular production cabinets fastened to studs 16" o.c., you should have no problem. A real nice installation is to open the wall behind the cabinets and block between the studs to get even placement of the top screws. Not always necessary depending on the stud and cabinet placement.

Lefty, We just redid our kitchen to accommodate our "free" dishwasher (it's only about $1600 so far), I hung Sunco wood cabinets, all wood, no mushboard, very inexpensive, may be worth looking at. Greg

Hi Lefties,

What type of construction to you have on your outer and interior walls?

Your profile doesn't give us much info!

Oak is fairly heavy.
