I just purchased a mobile home that was repoed. The air conditioner unit is almost completely covered in ivy. Will the roots of the ivy ruin the unit?

Thanks in advance!

I do not know if it would affect your unit but I would ditch the ivy as it would be a royal pain to service your ac if ever needed. Plus you want to keep the coils free and clear of clutter and diirt so it can breathe easier.

Oh yeah, I moving the home to a new location and have already sprayed everything with roundup to ensure it is dead when it gets to my place. I just wondered if the ivy had messed the unit up.

Hi,

When you get a chance you can ask any questions about HVAC on our HVAC forums. Robert and Mark are the techs and can certainly advise if you should be aware of anything specific.

Please be sure to read the posting tips on that forum before you post your question.
