I just ordered vinyl single hung replacement windows to replace my old jalousie windows. When I go to install the replacement window, do you recommend using puddy tape on the back of the nailing fin, or a good heavy bead of silicone caulk? The siding under the nailing fin is the typical metal siding with peaks and valleys.

Caulk, plus window seal tape. that seals them up 100%

Don't be surprised if you find rotted frames that need to be changed also.
