Sub Floors and vapor barrier

Hi folks,
I need to have soft spots in the floors repaired. I also need a vapor barrier. I can't afford to have both done at the same time. So, which should I have done first, or does it matter?
Appreciate all answers.
Thanks
Alice

Definitely get a vapor barrier down so to stop any further damage. Also, check the belly to be sure it is in good condition. Just a heads up - depending on how moist it has been under there - you may have some mold/mildew issues to contend with. Good luck!

I think I would take care of the soft spots first and find out why they are soft. It you have leakage, take care of that problem then get things sealed up.
If you have particle board subfloors replace the bad spots with plywood or at the very least OSB.
