I watched a few youtube videos and for double hung windows they say to lift up on one side to remove the sash but there's a twisted metal cable in the track that my window slides up and down on so I have no room to lift up the sash.

I notice there are screws on the bottom so I was wondering if that was holding the pin or whatever it's called that slides up and down in the track.

Thanks for any help,
Cheryl

Thanks again Greg.
I sent an email to Kinro, and I wasn't sure I was sending it to the right place but they emailed me back with a pdf file.
And the sash does in fact come out.
The pins on the window (pivot bar) are held in place by a pivot shoe which is a white plastic thing that slides up and down in the track.
If you raise one side of the sash, the pivot shoe RAISES (once you have the sash released) and then it just pops out!
Woohoooo! Now I can fix my window glass!
