I have been having problems with stains on the vinyl siding of my house. The only place they show up after a rain is underneath the overhang of a tree. I was told it was the tree, so I had it topped out. Everything was fine for a couple of months, then a rain this week caused them to come back. Any ideas?

They look like rust stains to me. Hard to tell from the picture but it looks like the stains are at the joints of the "gutter". You may need to get up on a ladder and get a better look to find the source.
