Viny Siding - Foam Core vs OSB Backer?

The home I'm looking at comes standard with a foam core backer underneath the vinyl siding. I have the option to upgrade to an OSB backer for just $500. Which would be better? Opinions please. Thank you!
I thin the OSB option would make the home more solid, it may make in difference in the winter drafts and noise reduction.
