My mobile home has a metal roof. The steel frame underneath the house is anchored to the cement foundation using steel cables. If my house ever got struck by lightning, would this be sufficient? Or do I need a special copper grounding rod?

Thanks for helping me not to die.

I think most codes require a ground rod anyway for electrical purposes.
I really wouldn't worry much about the lightning, but more about the wind that usually accompanies it.

Yes i agree, the high wind and storm can cause more damage to the roof. You can have the foam insulation on the roof and make it safe.
