I have new shower valve installed. It is not the rough in style. It has the plate that says make sure this is flush with wall. I assume they are talking about with finished wall correct? Is there any play when it comes to the plate being flush with the finished wall? Any info would be great!!!!

The plates I have replaced have a set screw that hold them in place you push them as close to the wall as you can and tighten up the set screw. Do you have a model number and or picture of your set up?
