I'm not certain of the proper name but will attempt to describe.

We had a foot or water in the home and have gutted to the studs. The area of concern now is the pressed board under the perimeter load bearing outside walls.

We have been told two different soulutions.

1. Leave whats under the load beaing walls and add 2x6 support underneath..

2. Dig out pressed board and install 2x6 support underneath.

We were told the the load on the pressed board during the flood helped prevent water from penertrating that area as much.

Of course replacing the area underneath the load bearing walls would be best. BUT that is quite the undertaking. So if could avoid that great. If not. Then it is what it is.

Opinions and advice on this matter are greatly appreciated!

Most here just sister up a 2x and leave what is under the studs alone. I think I would spray what you can not remove with some type of sealer first.
