We have a 2000 oakwood double wide. It has PEX plumbing. I was noticing that the crimp clamps are black. I stuck a magnet to them and it didnt stick! That must mean they are plastic..? How does that work? They are completely smooth all the way around, like they are solid with no break in them UNLIKE a clamp...? If they are plastic, then i am scared they will break sometime!! Oh boy....

They actually look identical to these so maybe they are copper..

If they are copper, are they dependable? Obviously they arent as good as stainless steel but... They are now 15 years old so i hope they are dependable..

My copper rings have a black coating on them, possibly an anti corrosion coating.

The copper rings work great, no worries.
