Hi All,

The main water line into my trailer has an old style round faucet handle as the shut off valve. I guess between it's age and our mineral rich water, it doesn't shut off the water. This was a major problem when I was changing the whole house water filers.
It needs to be changed to one of these new fangled ball valves. The problem: how on Earth do you change the shut off valve on the main water line? Is it even possible?
Thanks.

If you are on municipal water, schedule a quick shut off at the street. If you have everything you need it will only take 10 min. so the guy could stay right there and turn it back on.
If you are on a well, shut the pump off.
The other way to do it, is to change it hot, get everything you need to attach the pressure side and attach a hose to the other side so water will have a place to go (other than your face) until you can shut the new valve off.
Now you can see what I have been preaching for years, Brass or Stainless ball valves, Plastic valves tend to fail when you need them the most.
