Putting new MH on existing lot

I'm looking to buy a new MH. But now I'm starting to wonder about gov't regs.

The existing MH has been on this lot for 30+ years. At the same time, I'm considering the possibility of moving to a new park instead of putting it on this lot. The lots at the new park have had MHs previously but the park mgr told me yesterday that there's a lengthy/expensive process with getting approval install a MH. But since the sewer lines, water lines (city water and sewer) & electric lines are already there, I don't know what to think.

Any ideas?

Ask your building dept. I know that in Pettis County, regs outside of city limits are non-existent. Inside, a building permit would be required, which means inspections. No big deal, just use a reputable installer. But ask.

Yes, check with zoning/building/codes office to get the straight scoop.

Even if you have to get a variance to replace the existing mobile, go that way. Do what ever you can to stay out of a park, it's just not worth it in the long run.
We had to get a variance to replace the old mobile with our's when we bought property, took about a month to get everything in place legally .

I'm already in a park (and overall, I do like it here). But there are also good things about this other park as well.

There is no building code to worry about - - I already checked that.

The issue from what I've been told is more about environmental type permits.

P. S. There's no chance that I'd be able to buy land for it. At least not now.
