Today's local newspaper has a story about an unfortunate MH owner who attempted to thaw his frozen pipes with a propane torch. It caught the insulation in the belly on fire and caused extensive damage. Just a reminder: DO NOT USE ANYTHING THAT PRODUCES AN OPEN FLAME TO THAW YOUR PIPES!

I'll take that one step further. Your pipes can freeze but not burst or crack.

However, applying high heat at a fast rate can and will cause such a rapid thaw that the pipes burst or crack in the process.

You may want water quick, but once it is frozen, thaw with low to medium heat, evenly, indirectly and slowly.

Take care and best wishes,
Robert
