We have a large Garden tub that I would love to change into a large walkin shower. My problem is the 4ft x 4ft window next to the tub. How do I make it waterproof? It slides open, would it be possible to insert a sheet of glass and seal it to the old window frame? Don't want tile, don't like it at all, the plastic panels would be fine if they could be made water proof around such a large window.

A picture would really help here. What is there now and what are you planning on using on the walls to waterproof them? One option for the window is glass blocks but that would take some work to do probably. But it all depends on the walls and window, everything has to work together to make it waterproof and not have issues down the road.

I was thinking a pre fab shower enclosure type setup. Blocks would be an option if they were sealed with a good caulk type seal I guess. I will take a pic and post it so you can see what I am talking about.
