new flue pipe
Planning on my fuel company changing out our kerosene furnace to Propane. My question is the original chimney pipe is stainless. I know the inside is sooty and grimy. Can this flue pipe be replaced without changing the roof jack? I just had a rubber roof membrane installed and don't want these guys disturbing the flange around the chimney. Furnace was replaced once years ago and they did a hack job on the stainless pipe to line up a galvanized pipe to match it up on top of the furnace Thanks
I would check with the installer and see if they can just clean the pipe. Stainless should be fine to reuse if it is still in good shape and the right size.
