Hi,

Yes, it won't hurt anything, but is best to leave on or replace if it's bad.

Does it say Delay On Make or Delay On Break on it ?

What is brand and part number of it ?

To test, check 24V power coming in with t-stat calling for Cooling.

If there, test output wires going to Contactor coil.

You will need to know timing sequence.

Easy way is to turn off power to furnace and at t-stat.

Jumper across input and output of timer. Turn power back on and set t-stat to call for Cooling.

If it works, remove jumper and wait 5 minutes, then retry w/o jumper.

Thanks,
Robert
