Hello all. Recently I took apart my blower motor to clean the squirrel cage, but I never marked the shaft. Now when the blower starts it makes a horrible noise.

Also, is there a way to charge the capacitor? Or does it charge itself?

Thanks in advance
DonnyBaker

Seems to be the motor shaft making all the noise. Is there anyway of oiling the bearings?

Nevermind. I completely tore down the motor, cleaned, and regreased. All is well for now. Hopefully I can make it until fall.

Hi,

It will say on motor whether it is self lubricated or manually oiled.

If it needs manual lubricating, there will be two small oil ports opposite each other at one end of motor.

They will have small metal or plastic plugs in them.

Oil with SAE20, refer to motor or furnace manual for how much, usually 2-6 drops each.

Once to twice a year.

This is an article using a Coleman Furnace, but very similar:

Capacitor is charged itself, so no charging needed.

Take care and best wishes,
Robert
