the problem with my intertherm unit is that. with the thermostat
controls set to auto and the cool or heat selector switch set to the off position, the heating elements are still active and heating, the
elements will turn off when i shut down the breakers inside the unit, but when i turn the breakers on the heating elements turn on to... if i set the controles to heat and to the auto possion, i can run the temp setting up above room temp and the fan and heat will work ok. but as soon as the room temp gets to the set possion, the fan will turn off but the heating elements will not.

Sounds like a defective heat sequencer.
God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
the courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference.
