Have a 1998 Nordyne model # MMHA-070ABHR-5. Want to use a 3500 watt generator for power outages. My furnace tech says some models of Nordyne furnaces circuit boards do not like running on generators. Is this an issue with this model ?

Thanks CraiginWayne

There shouldn't be a problem if you have a quality generator. The cheap ones may not have consistent "smooth" voltage, electronics do not like voltage spikes. If you have a backup power battery for computers that may help also.

You should be good. I ran mine last year with the fridge, tv's and computer plugged in all at the same time. Granted I have a 7500 watt generator but the furnace draws minimal.
