Time on board keeps reverting and checks by unread posts

I keep setting the time to GMT minus four hours. It resets itself to two hours earlier. Can someone help?
Could this be what is throwing off the timing of the mechanism for unread posts? They seem to be haywire.

I have long since given up trying to keep it right on mine. What OS are you running? Everyone here knows my thoughts on Vista, so I won't go into it
My only advice is to try to deal with it, perhaps someday SOMEONE at microsoft will pull their head out and make a system that really operates. Greg

I have the newest Leopard on a Macbook Pro which I bought the end of this last December.
Is the time problem the reason why the checks by the supposedly unread posts seem to come and go at random?
