Inappropriate Posts - how to report

Hi,

With our lax registration standards (due to email issues at this time), we may see a few more innappropriate posts than normal. If you see it, click on the red exclamation point in the upper right corner of the post. This will report it and any moderator can deal with it.

Note to moderators: If you find an inappropiate post, doublecheck that the user isn't listing an inappropriate website in their profile.

Thanks,
Mark

Mark,

I just deleted a post linking to Viagra site. Didn't check any profile and don't remember the username except it started with a lower case L.

Thankfully I have not found any bad post, BUT, I have been checking the new registrations and all website links.

So far everything is looking good!

Anyone who is going to spam us, will most always register with a bad website. I was told that there's a mod or setting or something that will prevent people from registering their website for a specified period of time. So I'm looking for that one.

And if we find an inappropriate website...how do we delete that?

If anyone stumbles upon a profile that is not appropriate, or has a bad website associated with it, then report it. At the bottom left of any profile is a link that says 'report profile.' Click on that. I believe when the profile is reported, it suspends it until we can take a look.

Hey Guys,

Yeah, that's the one draw back of PHPBB's, is that folks can mess around if they want.

I still don't see why anyone would go around posting links on legit boards. Man, I wish I had that kind of time! Mark's correct, most of these folks don't have legitimate email addresses. I do have to caution folks those, if you see one of those links, please don't click on those!!! It just validates what they do. They'll end up posting more links here.

Mark, there are several mods out there, but be forewarned, that they have ways of getting around them.

Yep, I'll double check any links that don't look right with the profile!
