In the typical home, air conditioning uses more electricity than anything else—16% of total electricity used. In warmer regions AC can be 60-70% of your summer electric bill... This is where the savings are folks, not in worrying that you left your cell phone charger plugged in too long.

Have a blocking device in place in the track to prevent the door from being fully opened from the outside. The track-blocker should allow the door to be opened up to six inches, but no farther. There are many inherent problems with vinyl windows, but by far the most insidious is this once, this rip out and replace cycle begins, it continues for the remainder of the building's life.
