RE: Mobile home builders humor

Hi Busybee! We all know how horrid down under repairs are! Re-insulating and new belly wrap is the worst physically and mentally! Hang in there, it will all be done very soon... and the outcome will be well worth it! All I ever found was empty beer bottles! Makes you wonder since that major parts of...

RE: Mini Blinds & Crank Handles

Hi Wayne, I don't have the jalouise windows with cranks, but I do have a big old German Shepard that destroys my mini blinds every two years! If he hears a noise, he goes at one window where he can peek though. After a while they are trashed! I've tried drapes and the mini blinds so far. He gets the...

Very nice job! That gives me that extra push right now to get my home finished inside, for the next few year anyway LOL! I've found that it really never ends...

Hi NancyKay, My outside outlet for heat tape looks like the one Yanita described, but, it is up under my home near my hot water heater (outside water heater closet). This is also the same area that my pipes come into our home. I have to get under the home and check this outlet each year, while I ins...

RE: bathub surround (walls)

I'd suggest the same products for the surround. Just make sure to seal the surround or the laminate with a real good silicone caulk around that area!

RE: carport addition

Hello, I have to agree with the others on this one. We have pretty lax building codes in my area. I've seen some really crazy additions in my day, but nothing quite like you're describing. In my area, additions can not be attached to the home and they can not block an existing window in the home. Th...

RE: Back From Disneyland!

Hey Greg, A dry heat and a dry cold only happen in the high desert of the US! Let me try to put it to you this way. Normally we sit at about 8% humidity, at best. When a storm moves in, we might get to 60% humidity! Right now, we have a storm coming in big time, and we're only at 48% humidity. Keep ...

RE: Hanging Stuff on Wall (Wallboard)

One other choice is the thin wall anchors that Mark offers here on the site!

It's a pretty good deal and easy to use! Just check out the Books and Parts link at the link at the top of the page!

Update on my Army Boys!

Ya know, I thought I was in mommy melt down these days, but I think Warren is missing them just as much, he just won't own up to it! Dang is he cranky these days! LOL! Especially when he has to do their chores! Garbage day. today was fun in the snow LOL! Okay, not so much for Warren, but he's had ha...

Hey Troyster! Great to see you again! Hang in there, my 'honey do list' gets longer every day! My hubby is going through sort of a new awakening since the boys joined the Army. He's used to coming home from work and delegating chores to the boys. Well, since Winter is coming up and there is a lot to...

RE: How to stop the squeeks

Hi lowensp, I notice that you're in TX. Have you been prone to the heavy rains this year? You might want to check the level of your home also! Even our homes, on foundations, converted to real estate, need to be checked from time to time. We've got a '73 home in Nevada on foundation, considered real...

RE: Back From Disneyland!

Hi All! Yep, we're trying to get used to that silence around here LOL! It's just very hard after so many years of boys running in and out of the house. We were sort of a base home for so many years for all the friends. etc! The hardest part with the military these days, and it's not the military. It...

RE: Painting Exterior This Weekend.....

Hi Georgie, I know I'm stepping in late on this post, sorry, I've had family stuff going on. I do own a wagner power shot sprayer and I have painted the exterior of our home. Metal siding on the home and two sheds. Wood on the shop. I carefully prepped the metal siding on the house and did the old r...

RE: Mousey Move-In Day

Hey folks, I have to agree with Yanita on this one. There is no way to totally get rid of mice, but my best deterrent is my neighbors cats! They are all great mousers! We live in a rural area, plenty of room for the mice to make their homes. We have 3 outbuildings. Between the cats, the steel wool a...
