Re: Window Units or Mini-Split?

Mini-Split Heat Pumps are really good alternative if you have the change to spare. They can run just as much as a central air system if not more. They tend to usually run at higher SEER ratings like most start around 15 SEER and can reach up to 27 SEER. Are you looking to do a multi-zone setup like ...

Re: Thinking About a Mini-Split.

Yes I have installed quite a few of these before. In fact, it's all I try to install on the side anymore cause their fairly easy to do and it's a quick pay day  . I highly recommend Fujitsu & Mitsubishi because I believe they are the best ones out. I'm going to assume you are going to be u...

Re: leaking hot water heater, desperate for help!

Welling up around the inlet and outlet? Is this a specific mobile home water heater that feeds off the side or is it just like a standard electric one the has the connections off the top? Pictures would be great.

Re: Replacement Window vs New Construction Window

Thanks for the input! The vinyl siding I have was stapled in which might not be too terrible to get off. Just curious, I came across something online about replacing they vinyl pane in the window sash and not having to replace the whole window. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYFY7uioX_Y Anyone heard...

Replacement Window vs New Construction Window

Came home today to find one of the kids used a window as a wide receiver for football. Best part is it happened inside and damage the inside pane on the window. It's the top part which doesn't move and I do not think you can just buy the top section to replace? Last time I messed with windows was ab...

Re: Radiant Wrap?

I've heard of doing something similar like that in your attic and putting stuff similar to that under concrete but I find it hard to believe putting it underneath your mobile home will do much. If anything it will just trap moisture and cause problems. I'd stay away from that gimmick.

Re: Can I switch filters???

Yes, the pleated or fiberglass ones you can get at a hardware store should be just fine. I usually use pleated with the metal bracing.

Re: PEX Tubing

PEX is the way to go. Like Greg said, it is very forgiving to freezeups. It might freeze but PEX is known not to rupture like others. There's a few different ways to go about making connecting using the crimp, cinch and shark bite connections also. The shark bites are nice and easy but expensive, wh...

A lot of these parks get away with it because they are big time tax money for the county/township.

Re: A deadly reminder to take gas leaks serious

...But it was only a small leak!! People do not realize just how powerful a gas explosion can be. Greg I'll tell you what......I went by earlier to see it for my self and a neighbor had some home video & photos right after when it went off. Man there was really nothing left of that place. It wa...

Re: A deadly reminder to take gas leaks serious

Turns out this place had its own underground propane infrastructure which was built and maintained by the park. They have one massive propane tank and the sell it to everyone in the park. Hearing tons of complaints from residents saying that these leaks have been on going and constantly ignored. Eve...

A deadly reminder to take gas leaks serious

http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/nazareth/index.ssf/2014/02/northampton_county_coroner_sen.html#incart_big-photo This happened in a community about 20 minutes from me. The homeowner was aware of a gas leak and so were some neighbors but yet no one had taken action. All it takes is a good build up of...

Re: Frozen pipes and propane shortage stories

My propane is coming tomorrow to fill. I called Monday and got it at $2.24 per gallon. I called today just to see and it's $3.25 a gallon now. Good thing I called early! I think this whole "Propane Shortage" is just some political nonsense. With the economy being the way it is people are b...

Re: Natural Gas Furnace

I have not yet gotten to see one of these 90+ gas furnaces yet and was just wondering if it had a drain line off the top of the inducer where the exhaust meets inducer joint. Most furnaces I've installed in traditional homes have a "condensate collector joint" there that it collects excess...
