Re: Need attic access for electrical problem

You will find that 99% of MH's have branch circuits run below the floor joists, not overhead. If you can find an access panel in the belly material underneath a tub or shower on the side of the home you need to work, you may be able to stick your head up there and look down the gap between the joist...

Re: Is this a feasible? (water heater question)

The only reasons I can think of an access panel corroding is because the leak is either from the heating element (cheap fix), or one of the top fittings (anode, outlet or T&P valve) and running down between the tank and the shell.

Did you locate the source of the leak?

Re: Kitchen sink dilemma

A self-rimming sink has a lip on all sides that support the sink from the top of the counter. The actual hole for the sink is several inches smaller in both directions. If you can find the manufacturer installation guide, there will be a template you use to cut the hole. A 22" deep sink (front ...

Re: Kitchen sink dilemma

What is the reason that you can't cut the sink opening to the 'standard' size, are your cabinets not deep enough?

Re: Leveling a MH on concrete block perimeter [pictures]

Is that the only location these occur? Has this area been checked for level already? It may be a case where this 'fixed' location is to remain, and the adjustable locations (piers) can be leveled conventionally. The amount of flex to the I-beams may not cause any issues, but Greg's suggestion of chi...

Re: Well gear location

Considering that the pressure switch and tank must be installed adjacent to each other, I think that will determine where you can place the tank.

Re: EPDM Roof Okay?

Very good information JD. The only experience I've had with single-ply roofing is detail drawings I've had to produce for their installation. Never used it personally . As stated, installation is critical , which includes attachment method (mechanically fastened or fully adhered), seams, flashing, e...

Please clarify what 'to the side' means..?

Does your unit not sit on/near the floor blowing down into the duct below?

Re: Critters

I've have good results using the big jug of indoor/outdoor 9 month insect killer. Simply spray the backside of the skirting and the ground around the perimeter underneath. If you have a pump-up garden sprayer you can dedicate to this use, it will save your trigger finger.

Re: A/C fan motor chirps/squeals

So you already removed the motor? If so, I wouldn't hesitate to place several drops of heavy oil (like 75w-90 gear oil) down the shaft on both ends if you can. Most condenser fan motors have 1 shaft facing down, so if you can get some oil into the bottom somehow, it may help. Spin the shaft while ap...
