Re: Conversion of Spilt System to Heat Pump Package System
You can keep your oil in place and use it for backup heat. You just have to modify some of the duct work a little.

Re: reputable A/C filter suppliers
I usually get mine and ones for some of my customers from Amazon.com. I found deals for 2 packs of filters for $40 and under shipped. Never had any issues with them and Amazon.com is really good about returning products or dealing with problems.

Re: Water In Heating Ducts?
That might be a serious mold issue. You should have a contractor come out to test the substance to see what it is and possibly replace the duct system and maybe upgrade insulation to keep condensate from forming in the duct.

Re: help a girl with duct repair
Sounds like it could be a duct leakage issue. I would hire a contractor to come in and do a before test and then after they seal it to do another test to see the difference. Sealing the ducts can make a big impact if you have a lot of leakage. And just a tip, I found this out in my own mobile home. ...

Re: Had duckwork sealed, said there was water in ducts
By drip pan do you mean the condensate drain pan that the A-Coil sits on? If so yes it is normal to have a little water in there. If your talking about a drip pan underneath the whole unit which would be there if the condensate failed an water overflowed then there might be a drain issue. There's a ...

Re: Sealed Combustion Hot Water Heater
If you wanna do it the least expensive way then electric would be the way to go. If not I'd say your talking $1,200 plus starting at a 40 gallon one installed.

yes you would need a new wire ran to where the water heater is and then tied into a new breaker. you 200A service should handle it just fine.

Re: How to change orifice
You probably have to remove the gas valve to get at it. You should be able to take it apart and remove the orifice. Take some pictures of it so we can see exactly and maybe be able to figure it out. Make sure you have the gas supply shut off to the unit while working it.

Re: water heater
Well you can get a small one like maybe 30 gallon or less and probably get away with it if there is only 2 people. Besides that yes you would probably need to upgrade service.

Re: Blower blower out to side vice down
Usually there's a duct adapter they use for going from unit through floor to duct work. You have to get in there and see. It sounds like something is blocking up but only way to tell is to go look. Get a little mirror and try to see down in there or go underneath and try to see.

I know Nordyne does manufacture the Maytag HVAC stuff. Not sure if it is a direct parts replacement for intertherm. The supply house should be able to confirm.

Re: water heater
If your switching the stove and water heater to electric you have to make sure you have enough service. Is your panel an older 100 AMP or newer 200 AMP service? Count how many breakers and their draws.
