RE: decorating ideas

Do what appeals to you. Obviously you're not going to make a mcmansion out of a mobile home but you can make it much less obvious that it is a mh. What specifically are you looking to do, besides the ceiling? People now come into my home and other than the tell tale pitch of the ceiling it's not obv...

RE: Removing glued on bathroom mirrors

He went ahead and broke it off. It was glued quite thoroughly. They may have been chinzy on a lot of other things in this house but they were very generous with the glue. DH sprayed texture on the walls and ceiling and we're waiting for it to dry so it can be painted. Then the floors, the tu...

Removing glued on bathroom mirrors

We are doing a final overhaul of the guest bathroom upstairs. It has a standard glued on mirror that came with the home. We've replaced almost everything everywhere else but this room. We have a new tub and surround, toilet and medicene cabinet to put in as well as new floors and fresh texture/paint...

RE: Electric Fireplace

I really would rather have had artwork or a mirror. The TV's are DH's decor additions  I want to set it up so we have a cd of artwork/photos on a cd and "play" it instead of the tv. Though I must say, it's pretty ok to watch that tv from bed.

RE: Electric Fireplace

We have two. One in the media room downstairs and one in the master bedroom downstairs. We absolutely love them. It hasn't been really cold enough to judge whether it will take the cold off in the morning but I think they will. We have two different kinds by far the best is the most recent purchase ...

I don't think either of my boys could have managed anything like that at 16. They were/are indoors kind of boys. Much more helpful for reformatting a computer. Lucky you!

RE: Car wreck then a fight...............

As an auto insurance agent I will HAVE to tell my co workers that today. It will make me laugh for a week at least everytime someone calls in with a rear end collision accident.

RE: Update!

I uploaded a few pictures of the bedroom with the new furniture. What do you think is wrong with the curtains? I know there is something but I can't put my finger on it.

I'm home the next two days waiting for the fed ex truck and the freight truck with furniture. I'll make sure to post pictures when I have the room put together. The canopy tester came two days ago and it matches the fireplace mantle in the bedroom pretty closely. Hopefully it won't be too matchy mat...

Load bearing wall?

In a double wide is the wall between the two sections load bearing? Our old master bedroom is now our dining room and the plan is to make the master closet a small study and have the opening to the old master bath go from there as that is how you now get to the closet anyway. So the opening that one...

We purchased on regular tub and replaced a cracked garden tub in the old master bath. DH just bought a special order return mobile home bathtub for the guest bath yesterday at Menards.

If you take off the door, a small tub *may* fit through. It worked in the master bath.

RE: Update!

As it turns out, the comforter I wanted to use is too small for the king sized bed we have coming next week. The one I had planned on for the guest room is too big for the guest room so I'm doing a little switcherooni. The MBR will be done all but the baseboards by next weekend! We were able to get ...

Don't feel bad we're at four years with years and years ahead of us. We plan on gutting the kitchen and redoing it with custom cabinets in the next few years. We probably are going to redry wall every room upstairs too.

The floor is beautiful BTW!

We replaced all our exterior doors (and windows) with ones from Lowes and Menards as well. Our energy bills dropped by at least half. Not only that, they are bigger and we don't have to struggle to get large items like furniture and appliances in and out. AND they were less expensive to boot.
