Thanks guys. Re: Window install: The reason I wanted to go outside the panel siding with trim over the flange was so that the windows could be later replaced if needed without removing the siding. Well we got our first quote - $14,000!? So I think doing it myself is the way I'll go. The guy quoting it said that he would put the smartside panels over the tin.
