Roof decks
I've heard pros and cons for these, and I've talked to my fellow construction buddies who have never seen one in this area and have no clue what I mean. Has anyone here put on an upper deck? Above the roof? If you have do you have pictures? Pros? Cons? I'd like something I can show, to give an idea ...

RE: Am I going to fall through?
Well, I've been up on my roof, and while I won't admit how much I weigh, let's just say I was impressed the roof held me. Although in the past week, my floor did not. My son who is the regular up there, tips in at about 6' and 150lbs and he does wonderfully up there. Uses it as an observation...

RE: can stereo be replaced?
I wish I had even an non-working one of these in my place! I don't know about cassette tapes being totally obsolete either ,some stuff simply doesn't come on CD and transferring or downloading is always something a person is too lazy...um, has time to do. I'd check out the speakers first, then if yo...

RE: Debug issue?
At one point, yes. Then when I removed the background it kept doing it. I haven't had it happen since however, so I'm guessing it was I dunno what. For the record though, the second time I attempted to change the background it didn't do it. I *think* it was because I tried to turn the background int...

RE: How did you find this great site
I want to say I found the site by Google, but I hesitate cause I think it was sheer dumb luck and happened into my typing "trailer repair" or something into my address bar and this site came up. And trust me, I've thanked it every time some thing ELSE has gone wrong here. Or right really. ...

Re: RE: Minor/Major plumbing issues
Jaie, As Yanita said, the plumbing should be above the belly insulation just under the floor. As strange as it may sound, all the snow you get MAY have helped prevent freeze ups by blocking the cold from getting under the home. As for the electricity, just run a cord over to the nuke plant, they wo...

Re: RE: Minor/Major plumbing issues
You may want to fun the furnace when it starts getting below 0, Greg There is no furnace to run however. None. We keep warm here with a combo of electric and kero. The one thing we've worked on since day one is putting in electric panels, but every time we go to do so, something eats that budget. N...

RE: Manufactured home,Mobile Home or Trailer???
We call it a trailer. When I'm in an affectionate or really bad mood it's "tin can" with various words attached. I don't mind the word trailer. I actually revel in it. It's fun to tell people you live in a trailer to see that pitying look in their eyes only to confuse them by saying how mu...

RE: Minor/Major plumbing issues
Thanks to everyone, you cleared up my mind a lot. So once this snow melts (gee, new storm has made that a few weeks off) , I'll be under the trailer with the boy trying to get this mess cleaned up and taking out the old pipes and putting in fresh spleet new PEX and running it up under the trailer as...

Re: RE: Minor/Major plumbing issues
Jaie, Since I live around the corner from you in Weedsport, I can assure that PEX is the way to go. It is very forgiving, I won't say freeze proof, but one step from it. Lowes has everything you should need. Remember to add shutoff valves when you do the work. Greg Oh boy! Do I hear you about the s...

RE: Minor/Major plumbing issues
Ok. All of this makes sense so far. I'm thinking however that all the old, badly installed original is coming right out. And I'll start fresh. Make sense? It's pretty bad under there.

Minor/Major plumbing issues
Minor because I'm pretty sure I have them figured out. Major, because I'm pretty sure I don't have them figured out. I'm sure many of you know this sensation. I've posted most of this issue in my lovely new blog (ok, seriously, one of the reasons I love the new forum layout, I don't have to bore my ...
