dipping the screw in sealant is good. covering the entire roof edge with peel and seal does a good job of keeping water away from the screws..... alternatively you could use very small pieces of the peel and seal and individually cover each one.

put the stuff on right and nothing gets past it.

i think the only way the non vented would possibly work is to be super vigilant about keeping water as far away from the crawlspace as possible, and i know first hand this isn't easy.

i do agree that once the water or excess moisture is present, it has to be vented out.

it's a good idea to check those things anyway, but more than likely the cracks are those that are almost the norm for double wides. and are for the most part cosmetic only.
