Re: Addition

We have 22 acres in rural country and the building/zoning people don't come around, it would be diferent if we lived in the city. Our home is on frost proof piers (I believe that is the terminology) at the moment and I have not noticed any movement in the home but around the home I have with the ski...

Addition

I just recently recieved my manufactured home addition & roofed decks manual and I have several questions. Since i now know you can add on to your home per the book and several web sights I still feel I did not get my questions or concerns answered so I'm bringing them to this forum. I drafted u...

Re: Kitchen space issue

This may sound silly but how can I tell where the joices are in the ceiling. The layout of your living room and kitchen you have, looks so like mine. I also had cabinets (very flimsey) against the same side wall you have but they were not attached to the ceiling, they were anchored to the front wall...

Re: Skirting

JD I forgot to ask you once this problem is repaired should I caulk the seam on the top trim/track thats to keep the water from running behind the trim to the underneath. As of right now the ground underneath of the trailer is wet/really damp. I'm sure that needs to be dried out before winter sets in.

Re: Skirting

Thank you JD. I have aluminum siding and vinyl skirting. Whom ever installed the skirting used very few screws, in the back end of the house there are only three screws holding the trim on which are the ones that have poped out. I thought so this did not happen again, I could use small nuts, washers...

Skirting

The home we have has been moved a total of three times. When we had the home moved to its final destination to our site they've reused the existing tracks and skirting, this year i noticed the top section of the track (not sure what its called, that you lift up to put skirting in and lower it) has c...

On our metal roof it just goes from front to back with the metal roll roofing and no ridge cap??? I have started doing a recoat of t...

Re: Metal siding and bugs

Can you stuff plastic brillo pads in the ends of the metal siding to stop wasps and Asian ladybugs from getting in or would that be a hopeless cause. I have sprayed around the outand inside the home but I still keep seeing them. I know when you live in the woods you will live amoung them but I don't...

Metal siding and bugs

This may be a silly question but I have to ask. How do you prevent bugs of all kinds from getting up behind your metal siding. The siding is sealed at the top but the bottom where the wavey ridges are are opened and I watch bees, spiders and Asian lady bugs crawl up under there and then I find them ...

Re: Perimeter blocking

Greg since you mentioned blocking around the outer rim joist. Can you see the rim from under the home or do you have to do something underneath to get to it. This is something that would probably be better. I have Mark's book, but at the moment it is at home. Is this in there anywhere to show us how...

Perimeter blocking

Question, We have a gun safe (at the moment we live in a stick built home) and we would like to move it to our mobile home. Can we safely place it in the home without the possibility of it going through the floor or damaging the outer frame of the home. I want it in the closet which will be in the f...
