RE: Where is National Homes Inc. located? (1975 Park Avenue)

What's an SOL?? I just googled National Homes too and didn't find anything definite. They were probably bought out by another company and the name changed. Or they're just out of business now. Good luck with your search. :)

RE: Gas fireplace - direct vent or vent free?

Actually, we just put new batteries in all our smoke detectors!! One of them started beeping - signaling a weak battery, so we replaced all of them. I've done a lot more research on the vent-free gas fireplaces and I don't think we'll get that kind. I'm sure they are safe IF manufactured correctly a...

RE: Electric fireplace question...........

I've been doing a lot of research, and I don't think the electric fireplace will heat the room sufficiently. I'm going to call my insurance agent tomorrow and see if they allow vent free gas fireplaces. We just don't want to put a hole in the wall for direct vent and besides, they are not as ...

Electric fireplace question...........

We were going to get a gas fireplace, but the cost is just becoming unrealistic for us. Does anyone have an electric fireplace? We need one that will also heat the room. Question: can an electric "firebox" be built into the wall with no other insulation, etc?? We really don't want a frees...

RE: Gas fireplace - direct vent or vent free?

I fully understand what you're saying. But what if you had a carbon monoxide alarm in the room? Is there any other kind of fumes that could potentially get into the room?? Just thought of another question. If we choose the direct vent type, does it matter if it's vented out the back or through the ...

Gas fireplace - direct vent or vent free?

Is one or the other the preferred type for a mobile home? We are almost ready to make that purchase. It's going to be in our room addition on the front of the home. It will be the only source of heat for that room too - about 300 square feet. We have a guy from the fireplace store coming on Thursda...

RE: Upgrading Electrical Service

No Mark, we are not "plugged in" to the pole. LOL The electric company put in 100 amp service from the pole to our house about 5 years ago and the cable is buried. (just found this out today from the park owner). So it looks like all we have to do is have a new panel and breakers installe...

RE: Electrical question.....

Sorry to sound so dumb, but I have to ask......when you say "old 2 wire system" do you mean when the outlets only have 2 slots and not 3?? If so, we have the 3 slots in all our outlets. We have a friend of a friend who is a licensed electrician who is going to come look at our situation b...

Upgrading Electrical Service

We want to upgrade from 60 amp service to 100 amp. Our electric meter is on a pole a couple lots over from us. The park owner has told us that the wire from the pole is already 100 amp. Is that possible? I called our provider today but didn't have my account number so was given just "general&q...

RE: Mousey Move-In Day

No, I sure don't, but if you find the answer let me know!! It got quite chilly here last night and I too heard the little critters under the sub floor. First time this season. We also have ground squirrels or chipmunks that were getting under our home. They had found a spot at the corner and ate th...

RE: Kitchen Cabinets - Redone

This may be over simplistic, but are you sure you have the doors back on the same cabinet they came off of?? The reason I say this is because we took the doors off the laundry room cabinets and painted everything. We never thought to mark the doors and when we put them up, a couple don't fit quite ...

RE: Feral Cats

We had a cat come around our house a lot a few years ago. The park wanted it gone, so he gave me a cage-trap to catch it in. I had been feeding the cat and it trusted me. I didn't need a trap for the poor thing. Anyway, we set the trap one night and caught a raccoon!! Boy was he mad! Back to the cat...

RE: Petunias.......

Ever since we began "soaking" the plants every night till the water runs out the bottom, they are doing great. We also had to move them because they were only getting sun the latter part of the day. The bird's nest is gone now - we waited till the babies were gone before we moved that pla...
