Making a level 65 foot chalk line

What is the best way to make a level chalk line, along the roof trim, that is 65 feet long? Is it even possible?

Thanks!

Need to paint non-paintable caulk

I ran a strip of caulking where the walls meet the ceiling, all throughout the house. When I started painting the walls, it did not adhere to the caulk like it did when I painted the exterior of the home. Perhaps the two paints are very different. Needless to say, it doesn't look pretty. I guess I s...

Re: Would you recommend painting a popcorn ceiling?

Would it be much easier to just scrape the popcorn all off and then just paint the bare wall underneath it? My home was built in 1995, so hopefully it does not contain any asbestos.

Please give your reason why a homeowner should or should not paint their popcorn ceiling.

Thanks!

How much paint for inside?

My mobile home is 65 feet long, 3 bedroom 2 bath. I used ten gallons of paint doing the exterior, as it require two coats. The interior has already been painted with primer, so is it safe to assume that I can get away with one coat of paint? With all the interior walls and closets, it clearly has mo...

Re: The number of down spouts for a rain gutter

Why does a gutter have to be sloped at all? Shouldn't it be mounted level? After all, water will always find its way out through the downspout.

The number of down spouts for a rain gutter

My mobile home is 66 feet long on sloped land. If possible, I would like to avoid having 4 down spouts (two in the front of the house and two in the back). Otherwise the two down spouts on the east end will create a little river of water in my yard as the water flows to the lower ground. Of the bids...

Fixing dryer vent hole before new flooring

Later this summer I plan on getting new vinyl flooring throughout the entire home. But I need to somehow address this hole in the floor which was used for the dryer vent. I have no idea how the former owner used this hole. Maybe he just stuck the dryer vent tube right down the hole and had it dandli...

Re: PVC trim around exterior windows

Can you explain what you mean by "leave it flat" and "wrap each section separately"?

Thanks

Importance of primer

I added primer to a few rooms inside my mobile home last week. You can tell that I didn't go to the very top, as I didn't want to get any primer on the popcorn ceiling. How important is it that I now get a paint brush to carefully paint the top part? Or should I save that time consuming part for whe...

PVC trim around exterior windows

I finally got my home painted a green that is similar to the surrounding sage brush. Soon I will be adding 3 inch wide PVC trim around the windows. What works out looking the best? Using diagonal cuts to form a picture frame style? Or something else?

Thanks!

Made a mistake with roof coating

Recently I applied two coats of Henry's 287 roof paint. Then I read the directions and noticed that when apply to a bare metal roof, like I was doing, I should have used Henry's 107 first. Oooops So now I'm trying to decide what to do. After two coats it still looks really thin. Should I just apply ...

Re: A plethora of flooring options

Just curious why you use both sheet vinyl and laminate. I assume it's not the same design, do most people like that?
