Re: CAT 5 network cables in the AC duct work
I try to avoid wifi due to the EMF. So after doing some research online I found the Netgear Powerline. It lets you have wired internet anywhere in your mobile home using the existing electrical wiring that is already in the walls. The amazon.com reviews for this product are excellent, so I feel conf...

Options for a rolled metal roof
I think my mobile home has a "rolled metal roof". I saw this phrase elsewhere on this site and it seems to fit what I have. Is this how it likely came from the factory? Or is a rolled metal roof something that has been added in the past? It's not very attractive and I am wondering if it's ...

Amazingly cheap particle board floor
Now that I pulled up all the carpet I'm a little surprised. I expected some water damage near the windows, and maybe in the kitchen. However, it looks like almost the whole house has had the floor replaced sometime in the past. Are particle wood floors so cheap that they have to be entirely replaced...

Best liquid self-leveling compound
I have some uneven areas in my mobile home. Yes, I know, I was shocked too. Before I redo the whole house with new vinyl flooring, I wanted to check with the experts on the best liquid self leveling compound that is available. Any suggestions for a person who has never used this kind of stuff before...

CAT 5 network cables in the AC duct work
This mobile home has some jacks for analog phones and cable TV. However, my TV and phones will be entering the mobile home via fiber optic lines, then branch out to each of the rooms using CAT 5 networking cable. My plan is to have the internet come in through the hot water heater door that is acces...

Missing pieces of formica
My kitchen countertop is in fairly good shape, but there is a missing piece of formica. Does anyone know how I would go about getting a replacement piece? Would I just take a sample in to Home Depot or some similar store?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Textured drywall and panels in the same house
I just bought a 1995 mobile home and was a bit surprised to see both drywall in one end of the house and LP Smartside panels in the other. Seriously. Why would a company like Redman use both types of walls in the same house? So I'm here to ask the experts how difficult would it be to make the whole ...

Rip out the garden tub?
My mobile home has a garden tub but I'm not a big fan of taking baths as I prefer showers. Is it even possible to rip one of these things out once they are put in? I'm guessing they were installed before the roof was added at the factory. Maybe I could put some nice storage containers in place of th...
