I need to upload a 20MB video

My Mr. Heater propane wall heater is doing something wacky, but the website doesn't permit large file uploads. How can I share this video with you guys?

Need help identifying manufacturer of back door

Does anyone know who makes this type of mobile home door? I can't find any stickers in the door jam that identifies who made it. I am thinking about replacing it because I can't find the missing piece to the bottom of the window, and the seal around the door is worn out. door.jpg In the event I end ...

Can't get the furnace cover to go on

The bottom piece snapped on easily:

But the top piece doesn't seem to have the same kind of snaps. Does anyone know how I'm supposed to attach this cover to the furnace frame?

Combining two rain gutter downspouts

I have a seamless rain gutter on both sides of my house that drain on the west side where I park my truck. Therefore it makes for a muddy situation when it rains, unfortunately. I'm trying to think of a good design to combine both downspouts and then divert them into a pipe that I will bury in a tre...

Needing some new stairs

I see that most stairs made for mobile homes are the fiberglass kind. I'm sure they work fairly well, but can anyone recommend a good website that sells some steel/wood stairs? I'm wanting something a little more sturdy.

Thanks!

The home needs curtains now

I realize Home Depot and other similar type stores sell curtain panels. But in this mobile home, there are about 5 different window sizes. So the standard panel sizes at Home Depot will work for some of my windows, but not all. Can anyone recommend a good place to get curtains for windows of various...

Re: Seal for bottom of front door

I found out there are two kerfs on the bottom of my door that are designed to firmly hold a special seal. So this is the one I ordered, in case anyone else may find this helpful:

Eliminating heat via bathroom vents

Since heat rises, has anyone had good success with pulling some of the summer heat out of a home by turning on their bathroom vent/fan?

Thank you.

Re: Seal for bottom of front door

Ok, I will check my local Ace Hardware. If I do need to buy another threshold, do you know of a good place to do so? I checked on MobileHomePartsStore.com. They sell a lot of doors, but no thresholds.

Thank you!

Seal for bottom of front door

Does anyone know where I can buy a gasket like the one in the photos? This seems like it would work much better than all other options I've seen at Home Depot and Lowe's. This is not from my house, rather, a mobile home someone just moved into the area down the street from me. Thanks! seal.jpg seal2...

Lightning protection for metal roofs

My mobile home has a metal roof. The steel frame underneath the house is anchored to the cement foundation using steel cables. If my house ever got struck by lightning, would this be sufficient? Or do I need a special copper grounding rod?

Thanks for helping me not to die.

Re: Curse those cheap bathtub faucets

Mark440, I would have bought a real tub fixture, but was under the impression I had to get one of these that are made for mobile homes, due to the spacing of the 3 pipes.

Let me know if you find a quality fixture that isn't made for mobile homes that would work.

Thanks!

A refrigerator that knocks

I've heard of engines having a knocking or a pinging noise if low grade fuel is used, but I've never heard of a refrigerator doing it. Not all the time, mind you, just sometimes when the compressor kicks on. Any ideas on what would cause this?

Thanks!

Curse those cheap bathtub faucets

I have been working on remodeling my home the last few summers and just recently moved into it full time. One of the things I did 2 summers ago was add a new bathtub faucet, which I purchased from Lowe's Home Improvement. The faucet only started to be used at the end of May, 2017 when I moved in ful...

Light switch for electrical outlets

Why would any mobile home manufacture wire the master bedroom so that the plug right by the door is controlled by the light switch? It's insane in my opinion. Why would I use the light switch to turn on a lamp right by the door where I'm at when I enter the room? Doesn't it make more sense to wire t...
