RE: What should I do with this mess?
Georgia, just found a post on the HGTV (Faux Painting and Finishing) Board, by jodiesmith (I think), who had a very similar problem. The difference is, she wasn't using a primer, but a Kilz paint that supposedly didn't require a primer. She bought it at Walmart, and said that she couldn't even re-lo...

RE: What should I do with this mess?
Georgia, I'm sorry you had such trouble. That can be so discouraging. Many of these possibilities sound plausible, but, like Mobtek, I think it sounds like a reaction to painting latex over oil based. What was the wall like when you first put the Kilz primer on it? Was it painted before, or the typi...

Thanks Trudi - At first I didn't care for the Green. I know that the Green-Tan combo is weird, but after having it for a few days I love it. The checkered floor should really help tie it together. It does, and the colors are very nice together. Here are the next pics. (BTW - I have uploaded full si...

RE: Beadboard in Kitchen
Hi Katie, I used beadboard paneling in my "full time" home's kitchen, not a mobile home. (Makes no difference, since it's the beadboard we're talking about. :) ) Anyway, I kept it natural in the beginning, for the "country" look, with only a light, clear sealer. Later, for the Tu...

Very nice job! Nothing like the feeling of completing a project and being happy with it, is there? Of course I'm going from memory, since it's been awhile since I've completed anything.

RE: fireplace question..
Very nice stone fireplace. You know how I like to play around in the PAINT program, if you remember the pic I posted of your kitchen. Just for fun, here's the fireplace. Oh, and I took the liberty of "painting" your walls too. :D http://mobilehomerepair.com/phpbb/userpix/2463_Curlylocks__F...

RE: Bathroom Ceiling Redo
Yanita was right when she said, "Make certain to wipe of the entire ceiling before you apply anything else. Even primer can not stick to dust, dirt, grime, grease etc..." If the primer has adhered everywhere but these large strips, it sounds like something was on the surface (in those area...

Good deal! I love the Habitat Store where I live, but didn't know about the one in Myrtle Beach. We have a mh in Little River, which needs some attention, so that's good to know. Thanks, and I'll be looking for your pics.
