Re: Acrylic kitchen sink?

I've managed to find TWO sinks that match my requirements, both from the same manufacturer! I didn't think I was THAT picky! Anyway... what are folks' thoughts on these? http://www.homewarehq.com/Whitehaus-30-noah-Stainless-Steel-single-bowl-drop-in-sink-whnda3016.aspx WHNDA3016.jpg http://www.homew...

Acrylic kitchen sink?

Anyone have any experiences with acrylic sinks? I'm trying to locate a nice, deep, single bowl kitchen sink. The pain is locating one that will fit. I think that I've found one that is dimensionally correct, but it's acrylic. Seems that every material has its pluses and minuses... This is what I loc...

Re: Looking for shower door seal

I'm not looking to change out the plastic, just the strip. I took a closer look at it and see that it's a harder plastic than I'd previously thought: maybe due to age? anyway, it's not as pliable as the rubber that's used for window (and door) screens. I think that the primary function is to hold th...

Looking for shower door seal

I've got a walk-in shower with two sliding doors. The doors are plastic (I think!) with about 1/8" gray seals showing in the front that, apparently, are to hold the plastic in (more than doing any "sealing" against water), kind of like the gray rubber that's used to hold in screens in...

Routing pass-through electrical conduit under home

Anyone know whether it's permissible to run electrical service as pass-through under a manufactured home? The home is on a concrete pad and it would be far more convenient to route this service over top the pad than having to trench around the pad. I have a service pole at one corner of the home and...

Re: Wood stove installation - placement questions

Well... as they say, life is about compromises... We ended up having the wood stove installed in the corner of the front room. We did this after carefully measuring and assessing how it would appear there. The original location would have placed a pad in proximity to too high of a traffic area, not ...

OK, good to know that it's not some odd situation. I recall hearing "temporary" before, but always thought that perhaps this was just an uncompleted job...

OK, thanks, Gregg! This will save me a bit of time (which I'm sorely short of these days).

Re: Tips/tricks for routing stuff under bellywrap?

I'm feeling a bit dense... Conduit is to be run above or underneath the bellywrap?

Also, and this borders on a specific electrical question/issue, conduit and wire have to be anchored at intervals. If installing above the bellywrap one would have to make cuts for installing the anchors.

Re: Portable generators

Yes, I'd have any plans looked at first. But... my question: is it common that there are, in essence, TWO breaker panels for mobile homes (the outside one and then the inside one)?

Re: self levelling compound

Just to add some notes in case someone else is looking for such information (assuming that leveling compound is in fact determined to be the correct solution). I didn't use self-leveling compound. And, yes, had to screed, a LOT! What I learned from my experience (assuming home is level, that it's ju...

Tips/tricks for routing stuff under bellywrap?

Any tips/tricks for minimizing the cutting of bellywrap in order to feed stuff under it? I'm going to run an electrical circuit for a (new) electric hot water heater and I want to keep patching of the bellywrap to a minimum (already have a ton of patching to do!). NOTE: I believe that this is a gene...

Re: Portable generators

I have kind of a generic question on hooking up generators, though with a specific use... Mains power from my utility company (from their meter box) feeds into an outside breaker panel (200 amp), which then feeds a house breaker panel (100 amp) located inside the house (1997 vintage). The outside br...

Re: Underelly alternative

Ah, back to a similar project for me... had to put the repair of my back door and rim joist on hold while I did some major work on my shed. Anyway, look like I've also got a lot of bellywrap repair to do (the previous owner has a big blue tarp hung up in one spot), in addition to trying to figure ou...

Re: Siding damage from deck?

Yeah, I have every intention of doing things right: I bought this thing this way and am now just getting around to having time to deal with it (only have lived here 4 months now- priority was flooring and a water filtration system- I'm running out of bandwidth). I suppose that flashing would have he...
