Stand Alone Roof-Over

Today, I spent a lot of time looking through old posts about roof-overs and either I missed it, or there isn't a lot of information on stand-alone roof-overs. If anyone has plans, pictures, etc., I would be interested in seeing them. The kind of roof-over I am talking about has posts in the ground a...

Not one frozen pipe this winter!

Hi Guys, (a Michigan expression which includes women) Just thought I would let you know that all my hard work paid off and I had not one frozen pipe nor any water problems whatsoever this year. I heated with wood (did not burn the place down) and left the registers open to allow some warm air under ...

That orange twine lasts forever Wes! I have used it on many projects around my home. I macramaed an entire trellis which has been standing for 4 years now with no sign of deterioration whatsoever.

RE: It's been a long time!

Everything is great Yanita! I'm warm and snug and planning more improvement projects for next year such as painting the outside of the trailer. At least, I will not feel so overwhelmed by painting as I was with replumbing and re-doing the entire underbelly. My tool collection has really grown and I ...

Pallet fence

Here is the pallet fence I am putting up to keep my little dog from wandering off. I used steel posts between the pallets and then that great orange binder twine to tie the pallets to the steel fence posts. It wasn't even that much work because I was able to borrow a fence post pounder. http://mobil...

It's been a long time!

As some of you know, I have been so busy working on this trailer, repairing and getting ready for this winter that I have not had time to do the things I love. Last year, I remodeled the larger bedroom so that I could have a place to do my sewing and then barely got to use it. I like to make tied qu...

Door covers for winter

Well, I was going to put some sort of shelter on the deck to keep the winter from coming in the door but scraped that idea when I thought of this. I have some extra pieces of paneling around so I cut a piece to fit over the door and part of the trim. Cut a small window hole in it and covered that wi...

Redneck Antenna is Up!

This antenna pole is made from 3" pvc pipe and is 16 1/2 feet up into the air. It is fitted over top of a 1 1/4" steel fence post which has been pounded down into the ground 6'. At the top, there is a wooden rotar which is operated by nylon cords which secure at eye hooks toward the bottom...

Sometimes, when I'm on the site and notice some of the other names I recognize are also browsing the site, it would be nice to just say hi and ask how it's going without having to send a personal message which seems just a little forward if it's someone you don't really know very well. We all have m...

Turns out that after studying this and taking some measurements, the structure will be 7 x 9 instead of 8 x 10 and because I want to attach to the existing posts and other factors, it will be very specific and therefore, I will draw my own plans. If I every stop posting, I guess you can assume it ca...

This brings to mind the story of how my mobile home finally landed on it's cement pad. The mobile home was purchased a couple of months before the cement was laid and was situated fairly close to where the cement was going in. We were living in the trailer illegally and had electric, phone, and temp...
