Buffee, I spose a child gate wont work? I don;'t have indoor animals, but maybe it would be a cheaper option? Or can they just jump right over them? I think the room dividers would look wonderful as would the french door idea. Especially if they have the etched or stained glass in them....good luck ...

RE: Location of hot water heater in a 1998 Oakwood double wi

My home has the water heater in the wall of the Master bedroom closet. It is behind an access panel. Just like Yanita said.

Oh how I have been in your situation....mind you I was 8 months prego when I did it so I know it is possible. I have the same setup. I slid the washer out first. Then dryer. I crawled on top of the washer jumped down behind it and pushed the dryer out as much as I could. Then made my repairs and sli...

RE: Sheetrocking a mobile home

I am planning on also sheet rocking the entire home. Did you at all worry about the weight involved? I know sheet rock is heavier especially if you use a thicker sheet than the wallboard. We are not planning on ever moving our home and we are on a permanent foundation (post and pier). Is it best jus...

Shadow745, I really can't say for sure if it does or not. All I do know is that everywhere there is a pipe or vent coming out of the roof, I have water on the ceiling inside. I guess I will have to ask DH about the ridge vent and check that out also! Thanks!

Schemefighter, My issue is this, all the vents that are on the roof of my home are on one half of it. Everywhere there is a pipe or vent sticking out of the roof, I have a water spot on the ceiling. As the snow or whatever is in there melts, the water leaks. We haven't had much snow in the 8 years w...

Thanks Greg. All I know is there is constantly more every day. We have had quite a bit of snow lately and then a thaw with a nice day. If I can the vent will that harm anything? Is there not a reason why they aren't capped?

Water spots on ceiling

So on Christmas Day I went home to see about 10 water spots on the ceilings in my home. We have had snow for about a month now and yesterday the sun was warm and I am assuming that some melted and got in. My husband seems to think this is vent related. Most of the spots are in a row throughout vario...

I agree with Yanita. Any textured paint I have used feels like it has sand in it. I painted a basement wall with it and it feels just like sand paper on the walls. I do not plan to ever use textured paint again. If you brush bare skin on it, it hurts!

I too had many problems with mice after the first year. I have tried the electronic gizmos and I don't believe in them at all. In one week we trapped over a dozen mice in all. Those creatures will get into anything! Our best luck has been putting a thick gravel bed around the entire home, sealed up ...

I appreciate all of your input on this subject. But I really want to get rid of the strips. This is really the only way I know how. I know that my home shifts cause every winter the battons in the living room and my bedroom bow out. I kinda feel like I am "stuck" with them.

Brenda, Not only do I want to change the appearance of the walls, but I would like it to be more sound proof. I am thinking the sheetrock may help with that. I have heard about people texturing over the paneling, but I don't know the process and I am afraid with three children that it may chip or pe...

We are on post and pier (sp) foundation. Our home is a 2000 Champion it is 24x58. We do not plan to ever really move it. Unless the kids want to get rid of it. I just cannot handle the batton strips and the sound issues we have with such thin walls anymore. I want it took look more like a home. I th...
