It's hard to tell how well it covers when painting over the texture, but it covered great over the old paneling. I probably won't even need a second coat.
I'll know for sure when I paint the flat drywall that's going up in the kitchen and (eventually) bedroom.

Re: Total Remodel - Project 3: Drywall & Insulation
Got the texture rolled on to the living room walls .. It took 3 or 4 boxes of Homex wall texture that they sell at Home Depot. Used a roller specifically for texture that we found in the paint section. It came out pretty good .. very close to popcorn ceiling texture but not as rough. Using Glidden e...

Re: Exterior Wall Insulation
for what it's worth, i put R13 in my 2x3 framing. It fit pretty well .. not like I had to compress it much to get the drywall over it.

Re: Total Remodel - Project 2: Kitchen
Cabinet and pantry removal. The refrigerator is going to me moved to where the pantry used to be. The stove outlet in the middle of that wall is going to be extended and moved across the room. Not sure what to do with the vent for the old range hood yet, but I don't want to mess with anything on the...

Re: re paint a bathtub
Has anyone actually tried to refinish a fiberglass tub? I would think that with good prep work and a few coats of epoxy it might work. Does that blue tile go around the entire bathroom or just the tub? What if you removed it, cut out the sheetrock, put up new sheetrock, replaced the tub then re-tile...

Re: M.H.Toilet
I just replaced my toilet with a off the shelf standard size from home depot. As long as you have room between the drain and back wall, you can probably get a standard size. The toilet specs should have a "rough in" requirement, which on mine was that distance from the center of the drain ...

Re: What can you keep in an outside storage shed in a warm a
Anything that wouldn't be affected by humidity or long periods of heat. I'd think that any cloth-based stuff would get moldy. I always hear that cockroaches love electronics, but I'm not sure if that means stuff that's powered up or just things with electronic components.

Re: Kitchen/bathroom plumbing issue
I didn't do it to a 'live' supply line, but I did cut one before the well pressure tank was completely drained so water was pouring out of the cut Pex line. I was easily able to slip the Sharkbyte shutoff valve onto the Pex to stop the flow of water. A word of caution though .. every shutoff valve I...

Re: Will any basic windows from a big box store fit 2x3 fram
The window I got was single hung, single pane. I also thought the flange goes behind the siding, mainly because it looks ugly. If/when I ever replace the siding, I'll pop the windows out and attach them right to the exterior wall studs before putting the new siding up. It's possible someone replaced...

Re: Will any basic windows from a big box store fit 2x3 fram
I know it wasn't the popular vote, but I ended up going with a basic single hung window from the local mobile home store .. $62 for a 30x40 including the screen. It was pretty simple to install .. the existing window had the flange installed over the aluminum siding (not sure if that's how it's supp...

Re: Kitchen/bathroom plumbing issue
Mine are pex and are really easy to add valves with a pex crimper. Did you get a chance to inspect your belly material while you were under the trailer? I found the Sharkbite compression style shut off valves work great .. I've installed 5 of them so far, and they all installed in seconds and are l...

Re: Kitchen/bathroom plumbing issue
Ponch, that second sketch is what I'm thinking as well. Has she determined where exactly the main sewer line comes out from under the home? Is it in the middle or closer to the non-clogged bathroom end of the home?

I read most of the replies to this, but have you been able to determine where sewer line goes from your home to the sewer itself? Is it closer to the clogged bathroom or in the middle or somewhere else?
