As far as the FEMA homes, the only ones that are an issue are the small travel trailers. Not tne mobile homes. This might be an option for you.

Smoke Detectors
I am wondering if anyone can tell me if you can disconnect the hard wired smoke decetors and replace them with battery operated ones. I have one hard wired one in each half of my house, but they are placed in the worse places. I want to either remove them totally and place new battery powered one ov...

What I did was mix white joint compound and a little ( sm spoonfull) of three different paints that work together and rolled it on my walls. It looks great, no two areas are the same. It is also great if the walls are not smoth.

Adding a ceiling light.
I want to add a ceiling light in my living room but there is not an electrical box there. I looked for another thread on this topic but could not find one. Can wiring be ran from the wall switch to a ceiling light box without tearing the whole ceiling down? The other option I can see is to run a new...

My dog is a Alaskan Malamute who weights about 150 pounds. She stands 26 inches at the shoulders but compared to her father she is small. He was a giant Mal and was at least 250 pounds. When he stood on his back legs he was a head taller then the sliding glass door. She had dug 2 holes in the back o...

Garbage disposale
My disposal does not work any longer. A coin got stuck in it and I think the motor is fired. When I was checking it out I noticed that it is not hot wired but plugs in under the sink. Can I just buy a new one and wire it with a plug?

RE: Replacing stove vent
I understand the need to have it vented to the outside but is there one that comes 30 inch wide like the vent-less ones. The one I currently have is 43 inches wide and is preventing me from putting in new cabinets.

RE: Painting over wallpaper and wallboard?
My walls had already been primed when I bought my house. I did not like the small wood strips over the seams of the drywall. I took them off and covered them with mud and tape. I then choose three different colors of paints I liked and worked together. I also got a large container of all purpose joi...

This is what my dog does to my skirt. I am not sure if putting a wood frame behind it would help. Any other ideas?

skirting damages
Has anyone tried a product called Skirt-Guard to hide and protect the bottom of skirting from damage caused by weed eaters? I have seen it advertised but don't know anybody how has used it. If nothing else does anyone have any ideas on how to protect and hide damage?
